Ajay Devgan, whose birth name is Vishal, was born on April 2, 1967, and is the son of stunt coordinator, Veeru Devgan. He has reached superstardom because of his excellent performance in a series of good films. He is married to film actress Kajol, daughter of Tanuja. Ajay and Kajol welcomed their first child, a daughter, in April 2003. 
Ajay is one actor who has gained stardom on the merit of his performances, not bas on Bollywood-style good looks. He started his career with movies centered on a lot of violence. Later, he ventured to make his mark in emotional and romantic roles. His roles in movies like 'Ishq' and 'Pyar To Hona Hi Thaa' brought out his softer side. 
'Phool Aur Kaante' was his debut film in 1991. In 2000, Ajay produced and directed 'Raju Chacha'. He also produced 'Hindustan Ki Kasam'. But it was not until 2002 that Ajay's carerr was redefined.
