IS NUDITY A VULGARITY??? - POONAM PANDEY
There is no vulgarity in nudity, said Poonam Pandey, the model whose offer to go nude before Team India if they won the Cricket World Cup shot the mercury up for the India-Sri Lanka final in Mumbai.
'We were all born nude. People take nudity as vulgarity. I see it in a different way. If I keep it as an offer for bringing the World Cup to India, which incidentally worked (laughs), I see no harm in it,' Pandey told IANS in an interview.
The model's offer hit the headlines prior to the April 2 World Cup final in Mumbai. A court case was also filed against her over the issue.
'After such a long time Team India was again very close to winning the World Cup and I truly wanted to them to be successful. It (going nude in front of the team) was a sort of offering from my side to our cricketers,' Pandey told IANS in an interview.
Does she believe that Team India won the World Cup just so it did not miss her offering?
'No, I won't say that. But I had prayed to God that if India brings the Cup I would strip in front of the team. I am yet to fulfil my commitment though,' Pandey said.
But her parents were certainly upset.
'Frankly, when I gave the statement my parents felt very bad. But when I explained to them why I made the offer, they were relieved a bit,' she said.
Pandey, an aspiring actress, is one of the contestants in the fourth season of the action adventure reality show 'Khatron Ke Khilladi' on COLORS channel.
If she could face the whole country over the nudity controversy, competing 12 pairs of contestants in the 'Khatron ke..' show is nothing, the model said.
'I am not afraid of anyone. I wasn't afraid when whole India was after me. There is no chance I fear a bit about the 12 pairs of contestants. On the contrary, I would love to make people fear me,' said Pandey.
Asked if she has any particular plan if she wins the reality show, Pandey said: 'I want to keep it a surprise.'

Hazare announces jail bharo movement on April 13
Post whatever you want, mail to : arun.arun.monu.posthere@blogger.com It will directly goes live on blog
Gandhian Anna Hazare on Friday announced a 'jail bharo' movement across the country on April 13 after the government rejected his demands of chairmanship of the joint drafting committee being given to a civil society member and for a formal notification.
Giving the call, Mr. Hazare asked people to stick to non-violence during the agitation. After first announcing April 12 as the date for the agitation, he later changed it April 13 citing holiday on the earlier date.
"Today when (minister Kapil) Sibal and these people are saying this, I felt that the jail bharo agitation should take place in the entire country. But you should participate in the agitation keeping in mind Mahatma Gandhi. There should be no violence anywhere," Mr. Hazare said.
He recalled that he had organised similar jail bharo movements in Maharashtra in the past.
His announcement came after a meeting of HRD Minister Kapil Sibal with activists Swami Agnivesh and Arvind Kejriwal scheduled this morning did not take place with both sides saying they were waiting for each other.
Two demands rejected
Rejecting the two demands of the social activists, Mr. Sibal also said that only government officials will be members of the joint drafting committee on Lokpal Bill and that no minister will be part of it, if they insist on the chairman being from the civil society.
"There is no possibility of an official notification on the constitution of the joint committee but we have told them that we are willing to give an official letter through the law ministry and a press note," he said.
Mr. Hazare also urged the unemployed youths to join the agitation, saying they will get the morning breakfast and two meals in the jail.
Maintaining that his agitation is for decentralisation of power in peoples's hands and the proposed Jan Lokpal Bill will be a step forward in that regard, Mr. Hazare made it clear that he was not interested in becoming a party to any committee.
Two names suggested
The veteran socialist said he has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday suggesting names of former Chief Justice of India J.S. Verma and Justice Santosh Hegde for the chairmanship of the committee to draft the new Lokpal bill.
Mr. Hazare said that corruption in the country could be checked if the agencies involved in fighting the menace were brought under the Lokpal instead of the government.
"All agencies supposed to check corruption like CBI, vigilance committees, and various committees are under the government. Because they are functioning under the government, there is no stopping of corruption.
"CBI has investigated many big cases before and after Bofors. But did any minister or IAS-IPS officer go to jail so far? This is because even if somebody wants to take tough action, the government will stop him," Mr. Hazare said.
"If the agencies responsible for controlling corruption, which are under the government, are brought under the Lokpal, then the corrupt will go to jail. That's why we are demanding this kind of Lokpal," he said.
Regarding RTI Act
Mr. Hazare also cited the example of Right to Information Act saying that the RTI changed the ball game and now the government has to follow rules and people will have control instead of people following the rules and the government having control which the Britishers proposed.
"Today there are two reasons for corruption that has risen in the country. The laws are weak so the corrupt have no fear. Secondly, lot of people running the government are taking along these corrupt people.
"There is also a third reason that there has not been a decentralisation of power. Corruption rose as power was centralised in the government. Lokpal Bill is for decentralisation and our agitation is precisely for that," Mr. Hazare said.
Swami Agnivesh sounds optimistic
Social activist Swami Agnivesh, who shared the dais with Hazare, however, sounded optimistic about a resolution.
"I do not want to colour it with something confrontationist. No, not at all. He (Sibal) has been very conciliatory and he has spoken to me on phone and he wants to resolve it as early as possible as possible, hopefully by this evening," he said.
Mr. Sibal said the government has been very accommodative.
Social activist Arvind Kejriwal dismissed media reports of any crack in the movement, saying all those taking part in the movement are united.
Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi also said she was very much with the movement and will continue with the fight.

LATEST ::: WILL POONAM PANDEY GO NUDE????
==========
'Who is Poonam Pandey?' would have been the response by anyone and everyone, if you had inquired about her a week back. But she has become a sensation on the internet today, after announcing that she would go nude if India wins the World Cup.
However, it is highly unlikely as she has already been opposed by Shiv Sena, who has warned her not to bear all. On the other hand, PETA has asked the Kingfisher model to go nude for the sake of animals instead of Team India.
"I am Ready to face all Problems for my Country to get home the World Cup, Special thanx to All of u and also the Media Journalists in INDIA and World wide for ur support. And INDIA r u guys with me?? Cheerr it Loud we want World Cup BACK," was Poonam's last post on a social networking site.
Let's wait and watch what eventually happens.

Do you guys/girls want her to strip?? Post your comments |
POONAM PANDEY MIGHT STRIP IN PARIS
NOW that we have won the World Cup, the person everybody is searching for is Poonam Pandey — the svelte beauty, who declared that she would go nude if India wins. Her mobile has been switched off since the match got over.
Before the finals, Poonam wrote to BCCI that she was serious about baring it all for the boys, as it would be a therapeutic method to boost and inspire people to perform better in any field. When asked about this cheap publicity, Poonam firmly said that she was doing this to excite the Indian players to play better, and not for her own publicity.
After creating such a huge hype among the public, the missing beauty seems to have disappointed many by not keeping up her promise.
Immediately after the match was over, there were several Facebook captions like, "Where is Poonam?", "I'm waiting for you Poonam", "Where the hell is Poonam Pandey. I bought an HD TV for you!", etc. According to the latest news, she has requested the BCCI to choose another country such as Paris for her striptease, to avoid controversies in India.
However, there are many broken hearts all over the country including Chennai where fans eagerly waited for a grand show after the victory. Charles, marketing professional, who wittily stated in Facebook that he bought HD TV to watch Poonam strip, says, "We knew that she wouldn't make it, but the point is, people go to such extremes for cheap publicity."
However, the conservative lot is strictly against such acts. Paraag, an entrepreneur, says, "Giving such nasty statements doesn't make them a star. Comparing an emotional moment such as this with a cheap act by a model, is an indecent thing in itself."
According to Kannan, psychologist, such acts depend on human behaviour in different situations. "There is something called blue print in a human brain that deals with attitude towards culture and circumstances. It gets modified according to the place of activities."
Poonam, whose phone was flooded with threatening messages from the public, was last heard tweeting, "The magic worked."
Now, the question here is: Was it all a gimmick to encourage the men in blue to win? If so, how did we win? Was it because of Poonam or Dhoni's final six?
